I know nothing about wattage and all that to know what I need. Looking at one to mostly power camper and camp lights but potentially run the camper A/C if needed. Also prefer something relatively quiet so we're not yelling while sitting around the fire. So what should I be looking at without breaking the bank? What is the minimum watts needed to do this?

We have a 3500 watt Onan on our horse trailer. Does the job quite well.
Honda EU are very nice but you said "that don't break the bank" !!

Honda is probably the best and most quiet

you can also build an enclosed box/cage with only one side[muffler side] open to help to reduce noise, usually with this type setup one can barely hear the generator going while you have an area fan blowing

watts is rated to pocket book, think about it, get at least one size larger than what you think you will need

I looked at the honda eu1000 but definitely a little pricier than what we want to spend and not sure it would run the AC. What is the minimum wattage I'd need? Prefer not to have some heavy bulky one that's a pain to haul back and forth but don't know if such an animal exists.

Have a honda 1600 its quiet but your limited on what it will handle, also have a 4k with both 110 & 220 plug on it. its does not even bog with heavy loads applied

Just spend the extra & get a Honda. That's what all my pals told me. I just couldn't make myself do it. I found a cheaper generator. It was loud, unreliable, vibrated like crazy, & a POS. I finally broke down & bought a Honda. Whisper quiet, sips gas, starts on the first pull. Yeah, it cost more. Sometimes in life, you get what you pay for.
