Was in fastenall last week and they had a Milwaukee realtree electric jacket on display. Anyone heard of these or tried them out?

I used to sell them, they are really nice, the issue is the battery. If you don;t already have an M12 laying around for your tools they are about $100, atleast they were at the distributor I worked at.

The North Face put one out about 10 years ago and had to promptly do a recall. Sitka gear had one on the market 3 or 4 years ago that was apparently designed for the DOD, but had to be immediately recalled on the civilian market as well. In both cases, the issue was danger to the jacket catching fire and/or battery problems.

Its a great idea and I'm sure we'll see an effective on on the market soon, but I would wait until we have a 3rd or 4th generation of stable jackets on the market before purchasing one. They'll be much cheaper and much more reliable by that point.

Snowmobile guys up north have had them for years. I think theirs may plug into the 12v source on the snowmobile though.

Yeah, that's what they do. Motorcycle guys have the same thing.
