Anyone use the 50 cal. Hornady SST sabots in 300 gr? What did you think about them? I used PowerBelts last year and did not care for the results. I will be shooting these out of a Knight MK-85 using loose 777 and somewhere 80-100gr of powder (whatever shoots best).
Also, if you do like the SSTs, MidwayUSA has them on sale right now:

Cabelas currently wants $11.99/box and BassPro wants $15.99/box.

WOW!!! Those are what I have been looking for!! I want an entry and exit wound. I used PowerBelts last year and the results were dismal at best with the 300gr slugs. I just got my 4 boxes of SSTs today from Midway. I'm excited now about M/L season. Thanks for all the info.

DA, Looks like the 405s treated you well. I shot several with the 300s and they wouldn't even make it through. I'm in the going in/coming out club like the pics show.
Anybody want to trade some SST 300s (50 cal.) for some 300 Powerbelts? I have two boxes of the PowerBelts I won't be using.

No, not in a 50 cal but in 200gr Hornady SSTs pushed from a .45 cal T/C Omega with 100 gr (2x50) 777.
But it gives me an excuse to show an accuracy demonstration (see clip). clip 1m:13s
I've tanen a few deer w/this and older Pyrodes load - recovered them all.

I use the 300 gr SST over 3 trip 7 pellets and love them. Have taken several deer with that combo from 25 to 125 yards and have had clean pass through, one shot kills on all. It is my go to load. Good luck
