Im getting a Ruger M77 MKII target model .243 with the heavy barrel and a Nikon buckmaster 3X9X40. Can anyone help me out with what would be the best long range deer load for this gun....

Thanks!

Factory loads would be the 95g accutip or the fed 100gbt both hold good lbs out to 400y with good accuracy in my 243.Hornaday has some good loads also but finding what it likes can cause some bilfold bleeding lol

Your rifle will let you know what powder, case, and bullet it likes.

I've been shooting 95 grain Nosler partitions for awhile on this 1984 era Remmie 700 ADL. However, I am going to be moving down to 90 grain Accubonds to see what I can do.

Here is load info for the 95 grain partition. Notice this is with a Barska scope that took about 30 rounds to stop the crosshairs from shifting...recommend something a bit higher in the quality range. Also, temp on this day was 103 degrees.

What ever is stock 243 remington 700. I believe it is something like 9.5 to 1.
