Killed one there Friday morning. Believe there were only five killed total. Was on gobbling turkeys all three days, even with the wind. For such a "quality" hunt, there wasn't many people in there.

What happened with the bird you killed? Were you able to work that bird? Tell what happened. Thanks.

Killed 'em less than 200 yards from the main forest road, just before the first main intersections of roads. I believe it's white oak something going left and mossy something going right. Got drawn last year for the first time and hunted this same spot. Have never actually been past that intersection. Had five different turkeys gobbling by 6:20 within 400 yards of me. I believe one of these was a jake. Second closest one was on a lead I was familiar with from last year, so decided to go to 'em. Lead left road and went out and made a "J". He was roosted at the end of "J". Walked out to within 150 yards of 'em and set up just off the side of a flat spot up top. He gobbled at least 15 times on the limb along with the other 4 that were within hearing distance. Heard 'em pitch down at 6:45. Clucked softly a couple of times and just waited. He gobbled one time at about 75 yards. I Started scratchin in the leaves. I could hear'em walkin at 50 yards. He dropped off the top on to my side at 40 yards and came straight on. Killed 'em at 30 steps. Two year old gobbler. Place is a "quality" hunt sure'nuff.
