Deep crap. The way I look at this it applies to all employers, even w/ less than 50 employees. Yes I'm reading into it and a-s-s-u-m-e-ing.

With even some of the Affordable Care Act architects warning that the implementation will be a ‘train wreck’, Americans for Tax Reform recently compiled a summary of the taxes set to hit the American people during the roll out. Included below are nine Obamacare sneak-a-taxes to watch:

Starting in tax year 2013:

1. Obamacare Surtax on Investment Income: A new, 3.8 percent surtax on investment income earned in households making at least $250,000 ($200,000 single).

2. Obamacare Medicare Payroll Tax Increase: Employee Medicare payroll tax for incomes above $200,000 ($250,000 for married couples) increases to 2.35 percent from 1.45 percent. The self-employed Medicare payroll tax for incomes above $200,000 ($250,000 for married couples) increases from 2.9 percent to 3.8 percent.

3. Obamacare Medical Device Tax: Obamacare imposes a new 2.3 percent excise tax on gross sales – even if the company does not earn a profit in a given year.

4. Obamacare High Medical Bills Tax: Before Obamacare, Americans facing high medical expenses were allowed a deduction to the extent that those expenses exceeded 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI). Obamacare now imposes a threshold of 10 percent of AGI.

5. Obamacare Flexible Spending Account Tax: The 30 - 35 million Americans who use a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA) at work to pay for their family’s basic medical needs face a new Obamacare cap of $2,500. This will squeeze $13 billion of tax money from Americans over the next ten years.

6. Obamacare Flexible Spending Account Tax: There is one group of FSA owners for whom this new cap will be particularly cruel and onerous: parents of special needs children. Nationwide there are several million families with special needs children and many of them use FSAs to pay for special needs education.

Starting in tax year 2014:

7. Obamacare Individual Mandate Non-Compliance Tax: Starting in 2014, anyone not buying “qualifying” health insurance – as defined by President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services -- must pay an income surtax to the IRS. In 2014, the non-compliance tax is 1 percent of an individuals adjusted gross income or $95. By 2016, the tax increases to 2.5 percent of AGI or $695.

8. Obamacare Employer Mandate Tax: If an employer does not offer health coverage, and at least one employee qualifies for a health tax credit, the employer must pay an additional non-deductible tax of $2,000 for all full-time employees.

9. Obamacare Tax on Union Member and Early Retiree Health Insurance Plans: Obamacare imposes a new 40 percent excise tax on high cost or “Cadillac” health insurance plans, effective in 2018.

Just the tip of an enormous iceberg...and we're scraping the side of it right now.

I cannot believe no self employeed person with employees have not anything to say yet. I think this also applies to employers who has less than 50 employees. Can you afford this and again I'm taking it as we will have to pay 2000 per employee and I may be wrong.

Ive been searching and everything with a .gov on it is very vague in that area.

I did find one accountant's/ economist's view which said employers of 50 or less will not be penalized, but employees are eligible for subsidies.

clear as mud right...extortion usually is.
