Caught 70 fish today which is a new personal best, nothing big but plenty tasty. A bunch of dink crappie that would not go past 8 inches for some reason. A bunch of bluegills that were eating size and a few fat shellcracker as well as a couple small bass.

Shellcracker are bursting at the seam with eggs

The ones I kept

wish I could have gotten off work tomorrow, of course if I had then I would have been at the w. TN meet n greet... I'm thinking if MB wants to we can cook these up next time we have an evening available, I can freeze the fillets till needed, would go well with those shrimp....

sub hush puppies for the corn bread and that sounds like something I could go for! Gonna cook them up later next week.

Is it really worth filleting up bluegill just to get that small nugget of meat on each side? Seems like a lot of work to fillet up all those fish just to get a few meals when 3-4 nice bass would provide the same.

Maybe they taste so good it's worth it, I've never tried one.

They are good but in my opinion, no, they are not worth it. I can catch perch that are also small but produce a much bigger fillet than a bluegill and taste better but that's just me.

Doesn't take long to fillet such a small fish. Sometimes I do keep a couple of the bass. Just didn't catch any keeper bass that time.

In my humble opinion if you fillet and cook a bass and bream side by side you would never eat another bass and would definately never question whether they are worth it or not.
Absolutely the best I have ever eaten, maybe beside sauger.

Takes very little time to fillet a bream and they are GOOD.

Oh yeah,
Good job catman. \:D

I only caught 4 keepers and one crappie yesterday.
Cold front killed 'em.

Gonna hit them hard next week and especially next weekend.

Gonna hit me a 100+ day soon. \:D
