I just started turkey hunting last year so I'm far from an expert, but I've killed 5 birds in the last two years and 2 of them were in the rain. Last weekend it was pouring rain and lightning so the birds didn't come off the roost until about 7 am. Fortunately they flew right into me and I was able to harvest my first double bearded bird! From what I can tell when it rains they like to get out in the fields so bring a rain coat and wait em out! Good luck!!

You can get away with stalking around some. Conventional wisdom has you looking in fields because wet turkeys are supposed to the the extra runway for their slow take off time due to being wet. HOWEVER, my experience hunting turkeys in the hard rain has led me to find them in thickets where they are sheltered from the rain, especially cedar thickets, if they are to be found.
It doesn't have to be fun to be fun.

Wild & crazy, can't be stopped. Only the strong will survive.

Keep your knife sharp and your skillet greasy.

I like the breaks between the cloudbursts- like dawn all day long. If its a long steady rain, I get in a popup in an open field. My 7 yr old is coming with me so this weekend will do the latter. Rain may benefit us
