Why is turkey hunting not permitted or quota hunts allowed?
Does any one have permission to hunt for turkeys on this WMA?
Are plans in the works for this?
My dad and I had permission to hunt the Ensley Unit in the late 70s when it was privately held...Wow, back then it was crawling with them.

I deer hunted Hensley back in 2008 and don't recall seeing any birds then. They may be there but I didn't see them.

I hunted the doe hunt on the island a long time ago and saw turkeys everyday, including a group of big toms

This is correct base on what a twra officer said when we were there. Its Port Authority property and the rule is no firearms period. We were talking about the odds of having a muzzleloader deer hunt.
