I have been after this bird two weeks now he has roosted in the same area. Every morning he sounds off a day break. He will answer my calls fly down and strut even drummed yesterday morning
but will not commit. This morning there 2 other with him they were all giving it heck this morning then alittle after daylight had a forth one over to the left of me...Can anyone tell me if there with hens or what because i'm not hearing any hens. Or is it I just stink with my calling lol lol. Not for sure what else I can do. I've tried going in with flashlight, waiting till after daylight, this morning I even tried not hitting any after the first response.

Just keep trying.

I think if they have hens you should hear them, but sometimes hens yelps purrs and clucks are very quiet and hard to hear. I would try not to call to him in the tree. When he flew down, I would make one series of yelps at him and not nothing else until its pretty obvious he has gone away.
I would also try to get to where he normally flies down to. When you make your calls to him, you need to be where he has frequented in the past. I wouldn't use a flashlight, that may not be your number one problem, but I know for sure it isn't helping.

In reality, the hens are supposed to go to him. It is probably best to make one call to him right when he hits the ground and then shut up.

There isn't ever a technique that works 100% of the time with turkeys. My best advice right now is to just keep on keeping on. Try so off the wall stuff if common stuff isn't working.

I would try and set up where he is going after he hits the ground

What works one day doesnt the next. The bird I killed yesterday has given me and my son fits. To make it worse of the times I've seen him he he only had a hen with him once.
