Best wishes to all the parents out there. It must be quite a challenge raising teenagers these days.

No prescription or parental permission required if 15 or older. Just need proof of age and payment.

There is a "women's rights group" suing the FDA saying there should be no age limit, no parental permission, and no ID required. That way 13 year olds can have sex and go pick up the morning after pill and some chewing gum with their lunch money and not have to be burdened with showing ID. They are actually upset that the age limit is now 15. They want no age limit.

would you rather have a pregnant daughter or a daughter on the pill, before you bash think about it, I for a fact know that my two daughters were raised properly, my oldest is 44 yo and this is what here doctor told to me when she was in her teens, its alarming to hear this from another source but growing teenagers will be themselves, my advise to the parents with male children, teach them to "cover their tool"

you might be red faced for the moment, but put her on the pill, better safe than sorry, think back to when you were a teenager

Like TBLynn said, raise em right, and the chances are slim. You're still scared to death every time they walk out the door. I have one working two jobs and is about to rent his own place and another that is about to finish up her first year of "Spend all your Parents money" (College). I'm not sure when you stop worrying about the F'd up world they are just jumping into.

Sounds to me like you are advocating 2 different parental philososphies.

Plan 1: Be responsible and morally pure

Plan 2: It's ok not to be morally pure, just make sure that you avoid the consequences.

It's kind of impossible to try to teach a child something when you are not totally consistent and don't really think that it works. Remember also, most morals are not taught, they are caught. How a daddy lives his life in front of his kids is often far more important than what he tells them. That means that if you want your kids to be morally pure, then you had better not use the sad old excues of "Do as I say, not as I do." And this applies to all facets of life, not just the most visible or "most important."

The "pill" that the OP was referring to is not just birth control. This is the "Morning After" abortion pill that is now allowed to be sold otc without any parental guidance or knowledge. You can't even do this with many cold medicines...
