Reading all these threads about morels , I really wanna try my hand at finding some...problem is I have no idea where to start...i do have 3 different farms to hunt on in bedford county...if anyone would be willing to help me out i'd be happy to split anything we can find...im free most every afternoon this week after 4 oclock

If I was closer I would be glad to come look, but I am no expert. Some guys on here are finding way more than I ever have in a days time. Finding most of mine this year near poplar trees in moist areas. Most things I have seen say dead Elm's are the ticket to finding morels. Good luck!

I have yet to find one under an elm, and they are not too common anyway. I have found most in groves of tulip poplar and also around white ash and maple. Anywhere from ridge tops down to the bottoms of hollers. You have to look hard though because they blend in with the leaves very well. They can just appear out of thin air it seems.
