Got neck roast in the slow cooker for dinner tonight. Going to make some pulled venison sandwiches with some home made coleslaw the wife made yesterday.

Some how my ham sandwich just isn't going to cut it at lunch today.

That sounds good. The neck is one of my favorite cuts.

It turned out pretty good, just a bit more liquid smoke I think.

Looks good! I normally save a few small shoulder roast every year to do the same thing.

This was something new for me to try. Normally the roasts are cooked pot roast style.

I liked it and my wife liked it enough to eat say she'd eat it again. So after 18 years I finally have her eating venison regularly.

I learned of this a few years back and made some a week ago. I try to make as much as the crock pot will hold (6#) in the hopes of saving some in zip-lok bags in the freezer. Each time it all gets eaten and I dont' get to freeze any! This is the best way to use a lot of venison fast. I cook it in homemade Memphis style BBQ sauce from an internet recipe although you can buy the sauce. I too made cole-slaw from scratch but never tried it on the sandwich - I'll have to try it.

About 4 years ago I was at a BBQ competition and a vendor was selling "Tennessee tacos", pulled pork, a bit of beans, coleslaw and a drizzle of BBQ sauce on a tortilla. They were so good. Now I eat all my pulled pork sandwiches with some coleslaw on top.
