I know there have been some discussions on this on here over the past. I tried searching but couldn't really find anything. I was wondering if someone could tell me how the coverage is. If you look at their coverage map there is a big spot right in the middle of southern Kentucky that extends into Tennessee like a few miles where they show no coverage. I am in that little spot in Tennessee. I am not thrilled with my current provider and I am also wanting to try one of them there intelligent phones. However, I don't want a $200+ cell phone bill. Really the only two other options I would have other than this would be US Cellular or Verizon prepaid.

One thing that concerns me is most of the people I know that has Verizon say they don't pick up that good around here. I have never had one so I can't say myself. I do know there are a couple towers of some sort within like 3 or 4 miles of here. I am pretty sure one is bluegrass. However, I do also know that Verizon phones with pick up and text in large amounts of the spot they show no service. I am not sure about data though. I do know my brother and sister-in-laws phones work fine here but they are bluegrass. If it were simply the monthly fee I would just try it and see how it did but I would have to buy a phone too. Which I may do I just hate to try it and it now work.

What DA said.

I have had it for a few months now, maybe a year, don't remember.

I have been as far East as Nashville and as Far West as Hickman KY and it has performed flawlessly.
My phone operates on AT&T towers.

At LBL, it SUCKED.
I mean BAD.

Other than that its good.

I am pretty much above the pin on the map right on the TN/KY line. I don't really see the coverage just stopping at the state line but I don't know. Where my house is is really in the white. But like I said I know Verizon phones work in that white area. I think I may just have to give it a try. If I did buy a phone and it didn't work, can you sell the phone to someone else and them be able to use it.

If you go to their website and put in your zip code,it will tell you which phones will work in your area, most of the area I will be hunting only has good service from Verizon,so I am going to get one of their Verizon phones.

With straight talk, you have the option. If you get a GSM phone it will be on the ATT network. If you get a CDMA phone, it will be on the Verizon network. You can look at the ATT and Verizon maps on their websites and see about your coverage. We have had straight talk for a few years. It is a great way to have good cell phone service for a good price with NO contracts. The only problem is, if you need customer service - Forget about it!!! Horrible! I finally got hold of a "special" phone number that puts me through to people who speak english and can really help you when you have a problem. The normal help number is a waste of time and will cause you more aggravation than you can stand.

Had straight talk for 6 months or so and went back to AT&T... Coverage wasn't bad but I depend on my phone for work heavily and was having problems with loosing service in deep hollows and low spots.. Went and hunted my lease in Crittenden Co KY last year and absolutely no service unless I was up high on a hilltop... It was nice having a $50 a month cell plan but I need a phone that's dependable so I went back with AT&T...
