I thought it was pretty cool. Some times the differences just have to be put to the the wake of such horrific things, there are no democrats or's just Americans doing what they can to help other Americans. After natural disasters come, there are people that load up at the drop of a hat, and take off to go help total strangers. I may have a neighbor that 364 days out of the year, I can't get along with no matter what. But if a tornado were to rip their house apart, I'd be one of the first ones over there to check on them and see if they were okay and do what I could to help clean up, etc.

It's sad that it takes bad things happening in order for such spirit and compassion to be displayed... but that's just how life is.

On a side note...I saw this video clip on the news this morning and it humored me somewhat that when they showed people's faces in the crowd, you can tell some obviously didn't know the words and were just wingin' it. LOL

Yes, very very nice.

There has to be a starting point. Maybe this is it. I will push aside my cynical perspective if the very real belief that perhaps the usual will not occur this time.

And I will lift prayers to our Almighty God that our Country does a 180 and begins a new era, casting aside that which has gotten us into the state we are in.

Spot on! It should be sung with pride every time it is played. Weather in a professional sports arena or a T-ball game, it should always have the same meaning. I see a lot of younger kids that have no respect when our anthem is being played. My son, who is 4, knows that when it is played he is to be quiet place his hand over his heart and face the flag. He's to young to comprehend what it means but he knows it is not a time for playing around and to show respect.
