How many of you have cooked and eaten drum? What would you compare it to? Dose it have a lot of bones in the meat or not?

Fresh water drum taste just like redfish if you have ever done any salt water fishing. Just cut out the rib bones and you will have a nice portion of meat with no bones. Next time you fry some fish try it. Could probably cook it on the halfshell as well with a butter garlic sauce.

why so narrow? I'd rather try a drum than eat another trout. Smallmouth tastes pretty good too.

Because we always catch a few when were crappie fishing and cat fishing. I have heard that some people think they are good when fried. I just hate to know I am throwing away a good fish to eat. I think I will save a few next time we go crappie fishing.
