Rob,
I'm sure the Dr.'s have told you and your wife that it is not uncommon for there to be a degree of temporary loss of some functions due to the shock the brain undergoes during the surgery and prolonged time under anesthesia that will take several days to a few weeks to regain. Of course there will be some long term issues, but the brain is amazing in that when one part is damaged, you can basically retrain other parts of the brain to compensate and get a significant amount of function back.

I won't lie to you and say that it is easy, however. Your wife will have a lot of intense therapy and rehab in front of her, but if you can be her cheerleader and encourager when the "going gets tough", and celebrate the small victories that will occur to keep her motivated, that will be one of the most important determinants on how much improvement she will experience.

I'll be leaving to go home in a little bit, but PM me if you want to get together for a little bit tomorrow and maybe grab a bite to eat and talk. My office is in Light Hall, right across the plaza from the main VU hospital. I'll be in by 7:30 tomorrow morning.

Continued prayers and positive thoughts going out for you and your wife!

So good to see you posting Rob. Thanks for the update as well. I pray for your wife everyday.... continuing to ask that the Lord be her Healer.

How are you holding up? You OK? Sometimes the partner can have it just as hard (but in a totally different way).

Is there anything we, as a TnDeer family, can do for you and your wife? Besides pray?

This said it all, and is the reason that I am so proud to be a part of "This Family". When I talk about hunting and fishing, I always mention Tndeer as the site to go to.

More prayers sent your way Rob.
