I was wondering what you guys thought about an ammo availability sticky thread? Everyone who is browsing can post replies for ammo that is selling at a decent price on the web or locally. Another forum I belong to has one of these stickies and it has been really helpful for finding 223, 22, 9mm, etc. Info on reloading components would be welcome as well.

We gotta stick together through these shortages!

Try gunbot.net it has real time supplies from several retailers. $70 for 50 9mm is just crazy!

You really think showing everyone and their brother the best place to get ammo as soon as it comes available will help the overall ammo supply situation?

I don't.

With the way ammo moves right now its sold out 30 minutes after it shows up. A sticky at the top would be out of date by the time someone posted on it!!

I use gunbot but its pretty much useless unless you click refresh every 2 minutes. The problem is they only have a few sites that they search on.

I saw 9mm for .30 cents a round when it had only been up for 2 minutes.. then alas.. sold out before it could even reach my shopping cart..

this is really getting old lol

Well the fact is... there are a small handful of guys who have nothing better than to troll the web and buy up EVERYTHING they can get their hands on. I don't have the time to troll every site like they do but I can give people a heads up when something comes available.

It doesn't really matter to me either way.. AR15, 68forums, and a few others make posts related to ammo availability and they do work! its just about finding the most current info out there.

So do I think its worth it to share info in exchange for info? You bet..

Just go around to the stores and talk to the clerks (Walmart, Academy, Dicks, etc) ask how they process their trucks and how ammo moves into stock. that will answer when you need to be there. then find out if they limit their customers. that will help it not sell out as quick.

i was in Walmart in Franklin yesterday. the guy said depending on the # of trucks depends on when it gets processed. if there is no one there it makes it to the shelf at 7 am. he said, they limit 3 boxes per customer. they get .22 in and 9mm. sometimes they don't, but most of the time yes.

yesterday they had a DPMS and a Bushmaster there. he said they would be gone by today. he was right.....

Academy gets stuff in every day or every other day. they put it up front 1 box of the high demand caliber per customer. it will last half the day. they have .22 from time to time. i have not seen any 550 or 350, but i have seen 100, and 50 rd boxes.
