don't try to tag out early... it's overrated! I still got the turkey bug pretty bad. Hunted with in the dog house today, no birds died but we saw and heard some and called in 2 hens. On the way home I took the Natchez trace parkway and it was covered up in deer and turkeys. Man I wish I could still bust another red head or two. Why can't I buy extra tags? \:D wish out of state was cheaper. Not trying to complain, just a lot of turkey season left and I want to be calling up and shooting gobblers. Maybe ill be lucky enough to call one up for someone else soon. Oh the morels are coming up good and I look forward to fishing. Might get my mind off turkeys... Not really

Cry me a river haha :D. I'd be happy with a single turkey, because the ones that used to be here all the time have vanished. But fishing is just as fun to me.

Hope you find some and kill one soon, in the mean time it looks like you are enjoying the woods and the morels are coming up! Carry the gun and a call while looking for shrooms and maybe you hear a gobble...

Thank you. I finally heard a very distant gobble the day before the rains came, but it was going the other way, and I didn't have landowner permission to jump the fence. But yes when I'm out on property I do, I try to remember to carry the gun with me and a call, but so far nothing here. They know better haha.

Catman, I imagine all you'd have to do is offer your services teaching, and you'd be back out in the woods tomorrow morning!

catman, sorry to hear you're suffering post-turkey-harvest syndrome. If we lived closer, I would try to talk you into helping me get a turkey. I haven't been yet, may go later this week, may not. Chasing mr Tom through the woods is more difficult than sitting up on a deer. I'm usually good for a laugh or two. \:D

lol enjoy the hunting though, I found it might be better to be chasing em and enjoying the turkey season than killing em all quick... But not complaining, I've gone out with 2 other people so far and called in a bird for 1 of them...

Make it challenging for yourself. Save the last tag next time for a bow kill. That'll take more time and when you get it, it'll be a huge thrill and feather(noi pun intended) in your cap.
