Last weekend I rested my gun against a tree while calling for turkeys. I have fiber optic sights like most of y'all. Well I ended up knocking my gun over and broke the fiber optic. The sights that are on my 870 came off my knight muzzleloader and had to be machined to fit. Changing sights wasn't an option. I ended up going to the local outdoor store and buying a stick of replacement for less than $3. I took out the broken pieces and cut me a piece a little over an inch long to put back. I tried boiling in water so I could flex it and it wouldn't get heated up enough to bend. So I got my wife to hold my gun and got her hair dryer. I fed one end thru the holes in my sights and heated it until I could bend it and feed the other end thru the holes. After I got happy with the placement I cut it off and took a lighter to the ends to hold in place. Sorry for the long post but I'm sure someone else will run across this problem. It's a 5 minute fix for under $3.

So how does this keep ya from knocking over your gun in the future? \:D \:D \:D J/K JC, sounds like a pretty cool fix, time AND money wise. ;\)

That's the part I've gotta learn lol. But I figure it happens often and it may help save some a little money. New sights are $15-45 just depending on what you buy. But like you said. It doesn't help when you knock it over lol
