Interesting documentary.

I think we sometimes give the fed.gov too much credit. That is, we tend to get too carried away with their capability. After all, it is good enough for goverment work. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't bother being active, standing up for your rights, contacting senators/congressmen, etc. In addition to those of us taking the more traditional actions to secure/defend our rights, there are others going the innovative, yet still peaceful, route.

I agree that it is interesting. May only be a matter of time before they are able to strengthen the material enough to hold up.

3D printing is being successfully done with powdered metal now. I think it's very possible that "most" parts of firearms could very well be "printed", short of pressure loaded parts of course.

That is, everything except the barrel can be 3D printed. The durability issue has been mostly resolved as well.

Yea, that's what I was meaning by "pressure loaded" parts. ;\) I've got some models for mags now and am looking for the opportunity to print the parts to assemble one.
