9X19 is what we commonly refer to as a 9mm.

9X18 is a Makarov (Russian) round.

9X17 is what we commonly refer to as a .380.

Luger
Parabellum
9x19

Are all the same......I think there's a slight difference between these and 9mm NATO, though.

There is a loooong list of rounds that are the same (as laid out in the post above mine). The one you have to watch for are European rounds that are 9mmC or 9mm short. They are equivalent to a .380. Close!

So would a .380 be able to shoot the 9mmC or 9mm short?

The 9mm "short", the .380, and the 9mm "Kurz" are different names for the same round.

If the 9mmC stands for 9mm "Corto" it is also the same.
