I've used a hen/jake combo past couple years but thinking of just carrying one decoy. Anyone use just one decoy? Hen or jake?

I have used single hens in the past. Seems to bring in more hens than anything. I've got a Pretty Boy Jr jake to try this year. I'll let you know my results soon enough.

I am getting to where I use fewer and fewer decoys every year.

Just don't see the "positive" reactions like alot of people do.

I hunt from a ground blind with a bow, so I like to use something.

Same here, since the "full strut" decoys came out it appears decoys have lost a lot of their efficacy. I still use them some, but what combo depends on how the birds seem to be acting.

If the birds are not pressured and the hens not quit receptive I like the Pretty Boy. A lone hen decoy in the middle of the day seems to work OK, but I still like no decoys in the middle of the day...if he gobbles at you between 10-2 he is coming in and a decoy aint gonna make the difference IMO.

I've not tried only a jake, but had alot of good experience with just a hen.
