I have used every brand under the sun.. Honestly.. I have never had a single person ever tell me nor have I ever seen any type of engine failure from a fram filter.. if they were so bad they would be out of business..?? I generally use a wix.. but I wouldnt think twice about using a fram.. oil is the same way.. as long as it is the right weight and has the asnms or api or aflcio seal on the back label your good to go...

When my dad was in the army years ago.. they "never" changed the oil in the vehicles... they would take samples and when it was dirty enough they would change the filter and add 1-2 quarts.. what ever the filter held.. Roadway truck lines used to do the same thing.. they "never" change the oil in the semi's, a filter change and a couple of quarts and it was back on the road.. I called Mobil a few years ago when I thought I wanted to run synthetic Mobil 1 in my cummings.. the tech on the phone told me that the synthetic would never wear out.. ever... he told me that if I would change the filter every 15k miles and add the 2 quarts back I would be.."good to go".. he did caution me that you could not run the synthetic in a motor that had any leaks.. well my motor only had about 90k on it,, and no leaks.. I put the Mobil 1 in there and made a 80 mile round trip.. when I got out there was oil dripping everywhere under my truck.. I thought the filter had come off.. It was the synthetic running out of a motor that had no leaks... I got it drained out and put Rotella back in it..LOL
