The aim of this initial set of articles is to bring my tree-hugging, SUV-hating,
left-leaning brothers & sisters up to speed on guns & the harsh, inescapable realities of violent predators & self-defense -- before we pass new gun bans that will only make us more vulnerable to the bullies & monsters of the world.
I've broached this topic with liberal friends & girlfriends over the years, so I know that many of you will react with horror & disbelief upon learning that one of your own is a pistol-packing advocate of gun rights. But the evidence is over-whelming. The logic is inescapable. And reality can only be denied for so long.
The simple truth is that the political left has gotten this one wrong. It's time to let go of a long-standing article of faith, born of passion & fear, and apply the same steely logic & sound reasoning to this issue that we bring to environmental issues, education, healthcare and (almost) every other question we face.
My desire is to see a global progressive community that is safer, stronger and more capable -- employing an unbeatable mix of good intentions, common sense
and bold warrior spirit. A community of shepherds, not sheep.

The simple truth is that the left has never gotten any topic right.
Will the author be a good lib and still vote (D) when election time comes around. You betcha!!!! Just like the deermunists on this forum.
He can pound sand. He is still the enemy in my book.

Yeah, screw people who make decisions on the issue at hand and not the party line. 
No one votes on ONE issue anymore. As election day grows closer they (libs) begin to remember who their sugar daddy is and pulls the lever for the socialist.
If you truly believe this guy is going to not vote (D) simply because of the current gun control debate then I believe you are mistaken. His reasons for voting democrat far outnumber this gun control thing. He will NOT vote against his party.

That's true.
But there are likely some D's in the House and Senate who probably wouldn't vote for a AWB or anything like that.

You can bet they will vote yes on amnesty, abortion and gay marriage.

If you read his artical titled "More Shepherds less Sheep", he plainly states that he will always vote D. He only wants all the D's to change their mind on gun control.
I think it's great that some of them agree with us about the 2nd am, but they are still progressive and would vote for obama if he could run for a third term.
