Big one. What do I do with it since they are invasive? Thruw it back or throw it on the bank?

Measure it, take a picture and get a TARP certificate. \:D

Then chunk it on the bank. ;\)

Depends what type of carp.... Commons are not nearly as invasive as silver or bighead, but the latter two are filter feeders and won't bite... Buffalo look like common carp but are native, not invasive. Got a pic of your fish? I need to get out and catch some soon

Biggest I've ever caught. 2" longer than the 18" golden rule.

Yep that's a common carp, native to Europe and brought here for food on the table. Only we have better eating fish here, so they went into the "trash fish" category. Still fun to catch though. Next time try to cook it, and tell us what you think...it's one of the few fish I've never ate.

don't throw it on the bank. i just slice the belly open and let them swim off. they sink and nobody has to smell it. kill em all!!!

How to prepare Carp

Start fire in pit, once coals are nice and hot as well as plentyful
make note to self, this is going to be good
while fire is burning (not to waist time) prepare in nice bucket or what ever you wish,
1 gallon of good clean dirt,
1/4 gallon of good clean water
pour contents of water into contents of dirt, stirring constantly
do not pour fast, mix dirt and water till stiff (similar to biscuit dough)
Take Carp, wrap in mud until fully covered, should be minimum of 1/4" thickly wrapped
Salt, pepper and any other spice you like
Put on hot coals, unwrapped, as mud will protect the fish
upon seeing the mud is dried from the heat, maybe a little crisp
remove from fire using protection as not to burn hands
break open, careful not to allow fish to break up of fall apart
Throw fish away and eat the dirt

Just don't throw it on the bank unless it's your bank or you have permission. Nothing worse than a pile of carp stinking up an area.
