Did you skin any out? I very much would like to skin one out and dry it on a traditional round frame for use in our hunter safety classes. Have seen zero sign of beaver population around here in middle TN or on Yanahli.
No all of them were shot in the pond with no way to easily retrieve them. I would have liked to skin one too. I was going to cook some too, but didn't want to have to dive for him.

Darn things are still giving me fits. We broke the dam again for the 3rd time. I think they are still living in the lodge we burned and dug up. It must go under the bank a lot farther than just under the mound of sticks they had piled up.
We've killed 5 now including a big female that had to weigh close to 50 pounds. Should have checked to see if she was pregnant...but didn't think about it till Sunday evening on the drive home.

I understand that beavers can cause problems on small tracts of land, semi urban or farm land and I certainly have no problem killing them either for destructive purposes or food etc. However, I'm always confused by the universal hatred towards them. As hunters, you should appreciate how much habitat beaver ponds can create. Spend some time in beaver infested areas and you'll find an incredible amount of life surrounding beaver ponds. Holes full of hundreds of waterfowl, deer bedding habitat, etc.

Play them a recording of running water and when they show themselves shoot them or use napalm. napalm, it smells like "victory", now where did I hear that?????????????????????????

No doubt. My favorite duck hole in Oklahoma was a beaver pond. It is simply amazing what they can do....but unfortunately for them I want to controll any "improvements" to my property.
