Make sure that camshaft is compatable with the TBI system, they won't run right with very much cam unless you modify the computer , if you call comp cams, they will help you out , sounds like it'll be a strong motor, good luck

You're gonna cut the deck down a shade to square it up and remove the rust right?
I always have the decks squared and the mains line bored when building a block for the first time. Won't have to worry about it if you ever freshen it up but on the initial build it doesn't hurt.

Yeah I am going to have block work done too.
Also, I decided to go with a carburetor so I don't have all of the computerized stuff making things more complicated.

I have about a 620 roller cam from comp that I might be willing to part with but it's probably too much for a flat top motor. Nice build!

keep us updated. i just had some work done on my hunting rig. New rear brakes and bearings and u joint and front brakes and tune up and tires. That when my wife said it had to stop. I had alomost went through my entire bonus from work. So I had to sneak the shocks in under the radar. Then she helped me put them on.
