I guess I will have to inquire as to how my company will interpret the law. I want to be allowed protection to and from work but I won't do anything to lose my job.
This law doesn't do anything to protect you from loosing your job. If a company want to have a policy banning guns, it can and you be fired for breaking the company rule. You simply can't be prosecuted for it. I believe this is how it should be...

If they follow the new law, I am fine and can even take my bow or rifle in the trunk during hunting season and get some hunting in after work.

Understand clearly that your employer may terminate you IF they choose to based on Co rules. It would not be considered an "unlawful" act however nonetheless your company can still cut the cord.
Yep, makes the bill pretty much useless IMO.

if a company bans weapons and terminates you for having a weapon in your vehicle it will open them up for a lawsuit. The winner of the lawsuit will set the standard from that point on. Who will be first?

The company I work for prohibits firearms in the facility but not in the parking lot. This discussion actually came up last week. I found out for certain it was allowed.

I wish mine did but it is stated in the handbook that none are allowed on the property. I will be emailing corporate and inquiring about this one.

This is a bullcrap law that didn't go far enough to ensure a person could absolutely store a weapon in their car on company property. A chest thumping look what I did passing this pro gun law that accomplishes nothing.
And btw this law only applies to persons with carry permits unless that was amended out.
