To me, the bottom line is this:

The man runs the site like he see's fit. I personally like it, or I wouldn't be here. I would guess most folks here don't come because they don't like it.

Lumping religion and child pornography together as equal.

Wow.

The prayers requests are also a way for us all to see who is having a hard time in his/her life right now. A loved one has cancer, killed in a car accident, child is very sick, etc, etc. No different than when any group of hunters come together at the camp fire.

Just what the heck do you think we all talk about here?? we talk about LIFE, our lives and we openly share them with other members we are NOT ashamed of it.

Better yet, why don't we have an anti-Christ forum that way we can see who all is that way. Bet my life that very, very few people would post on that only because it would give them away and show who and what they truely are.

Just because someone asks for prayers and others freely give them don't mean we drop down right then and there and pray, we each do it in our own way and my posting they we sent them lets the member know that we are thinking about him.

Where he gets off track is the arrogant, disrespectful, ignorant viewpoint that other people's opinions are inferior to his and should be silenced.

Silencing other people's opinions is a lame way of trying to "win" without even looking at your own cards. It is the way of the bully, the lazy, the tyrant, and the child.

Examine your views, understand your facts, strengthen your arguments. Be prepared to defend your opinions with quality arguments.
Your opinions might be right or wrong, going through the PROCESS of learning and understanding is what brings wisdom, growth, and peace.

Good post!!

After pondering all this for a day, I feel a need to respond. Even though I don't agree with it, I do respect your opinion on the matter Gut Bucket, I also ask for the same in return. First and foremost, this is a site that is full of like-minded people that share a love of the outdoors and a love of The Lord—we can't help that the two subjects project outward and we hold both of them in the same high regard. I feel it is wrong to even request that we don't post religious postings where you don't see fit—you do have the right to not open them; however, you do not have the right to be offended by them, especially in a privately owned forum...that is one of the things that is currently wrong with our country. That being said, I hope you choose to stick around and let the Lord in your heart so you can enjoy everything this site has to offer—a huge family, slightly disfunctional at times \:\) , that cares about each other, our outdoors interests and Our Lord.

Gut Bucket was chastised because he suggested on a General Forum that since he doesn't like religion everyone should take their religion elsewhere. He sure got everyone's attention with his capitalized subject line.

"I'M GUT BUCKET AND I DON'T CARE FOR RELIGION SO GET YOUR RELIGION OFF THE GENERAL FORUM BECAUSE I WANT THIS TO BE A HUNTING SITE AND NOT A RELIGIOUS SITE AND I WANT TO READ ABOUT HUNTING SUBJECTS HERE. I KNOW THIS IS THE GENERAL FORUM AND THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER FORUMS SPECIFICALLY FOR HUNTING DISCUSSION, BUT RELIGION MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE SO PLEASE RENAME THIS FORM AS 'THE NOT-SO-GENERAL FORUM WITH MOSTLY HUNTING TALK AND NO RELIGION'. THAT WAY I WILL NOT HAVE TO SUBJECT MY EYES TO ANY RELIGIOUS SUBJECT LINES AND I WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ACCIDENTALLY OR PURPOSELY CLICKING ON ANY RELIGIONS THREADS. ALSO, SINCE I BELIEVE THIS SITE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A HUNTING SITE ANY OTHER TOPICS THAT DO NOT INVOLVE HUNTING SHOULD PROBABLY NOT BE POSTED IN THE GENERAL FORUM UNLESS THEY DON'T MAKE ME UNCOMFORTABLE. I REALIZE THIS WOULD BE ENTIRELY SUBJECTIVE AND LARGELY HYPOCRITICAL, BUT I CHECKED WITH MY ETERNAL SOUL AND IT FEELS JUST FINE WITH IT."

That's funny and not even close to what was posted! Maybe you need to go back and actually read the original post. I don't see a problem with there being a religious forum or not. I don't care either way since I just skip the religious posts. It would make sense that the religious people would want a space to keep all their post together instead of scattered all over the general forum but I guess not. I guess it's easier to keep pushing your own religious views by posting in a common area!
