Will Blueberry cuttings grow?
I planted 10 blueberry plants two weeks ago. While planting, I broke one of the limbs. So I trimmed the limb back. I dipped the cutting into root starter and left it in a small glass of water.
As of today, the cutting has several leaves growing out. The base of the stalk has a white, fuzzy look, but no extended roots.

They do start blueberries from cuttings. I'm not sure about the method they use to root them. I have been rooting fig trees from cuttings. I'd like to try blueberries since I have a couple bushes I could use for cuttings.

If you search "starting blueberries from cuttings" there is quite a bit of info. I know some plants can be started in water and do ok, but they say the roots are very weak and can be hard to get to live.

I have 400 blueberry plants I got from an 89 year old man that roots them from cuttings ,he showed me and explained to me how it's done. He takes nursery trays what have 72 holes in them and fills all the holes with shredded pine bark, takes the cutting and breaks off the lower few leaves and scrapes the fresh green outside of the stem with his 50 year old case knife, he puts each cutting in its own little hole in the tray, he has a screened in area( including the roof) to keep critters out. Once they're in the trays they get a 7 second mist every 10 min 24\7 all summer long, he said keeping a mist on the leaves is the ticket to them having a good root system , hopes this helps, text me if you'd like to see a picture of his 500,000 plants 901-486-2680
