It's quite obvious that the "progressive" business model of cities - mainly in the North, NorthEast, and Left Coast is broken and the very reason why said cities are millions in the red.

Here's proof that the fiscal conservative model of doing things is the way to go: Sandy Springs, GA. They privatized virtually everything the city does, except for police and fire protection; because the insurance premiums for a private company providing those services were deemed prohibitively high. But its 911 dispatch center is operated by a private company.

It does not have a fleet of vehicles for road repair, or a yard where the fleet is parked. It does not have long-term debt. It has no pension obligations. It does not have a city hall, for that matter, if your idea of a city hall is a building owned by the city. Sandy Springs rents.

Another city is even more privatized - Maywood, CA...but, it was pushed to extreme measures after it flirted with bankruptcy. Basically, in Maywood EVERY city employee was fired but one. Notice how a "progressive" socialist model leads to bankruptcy - and when it needs fixed - here comes the private sector to the rescue!

Big-government liberalism and it's adherence to Keynesian economic policy has broken cities, states, and the federal government...time to fix that.

I am in full agreement with your statements and principals. The problem is that most politicians have no true principals and vote on feelings, which change like the wind. Who (politicians or parties) does not at least dabble in Keynesian economic politics, especially at the national level? The dems are downright socialist, and the way that the pubs have acted towards financial matters over the past 12 or so years is liberal at best. I pray that our country sees the dangerous political games that our government is playing before it is too late, which I am afraid it already may be. To fix the problem at this point will take pain shared by all, as we cannot continue to spend, borrow, and print more money at the rate that we are without economic collapse. But unfortunately most voters would rather continue to vote for kicking the can down the road as the problems grow, and hope that the problems just go away as we flutter off into utopia.

Keynesian economics is founded in this one idea "In the end we are all dead" so looting a city or country until bankruptcy IS the plan.

If you look at politics and economics as plumbing you will understand that policy is simply a way of diverting the flow of money.

Progressives/Keynesians put in policy that diverts money into a pipe where they have a tap to siphon off part of the flow. That is their ONE goal. TO siphon off other peoples wealth and become rich and powerful. A central feature of Keynesian policy is debt. Remember, in the end we are all dead so WE won't be the ones paying it back. Keynesian policy is nothing more than credit card fraud on an epic scale. They are parasites living in the gut of capitalism.

Socialists/communists want to take over the entire pipeline and ration out the flow as they see fit. The main function is flat out theft. This is done using governmental force. Destroying the economy is fine since all the wealth will be accumulated at the top, who cares if the standard of living of the whole country crumbles? You will still hold more wealth than you could ever hope to spend.

Capitalists want to put as little restriction on the piping as possible. Thus allowing for new sources of wealth to be created and the private sector to build their own pipelines. The central idea/motivator is "leave me alone and I will build my own wealth". Capitalists build wealth by creating value. Consumers voluntarily exchange wealth for value enriching both parties.

If you strip away the marketing, the abuse, and the exceptions to the rule.... it becomes VERY obvious which path will lead to a better world for everyone.
If you can't trust people with freedom, how can you trust them with power ?

It's not just the politicians that are responsible for this, it's the PEOPLE who vote and support them. Without the support and votes of the people the politicians have no power to do anything.

When the federal, state and city govts are bankrupt because of the progressive, socialists, communists models of governing then by God, let the ones that voted FOR them be the ones to take the loss. They voted them in because they wanted to line THEIR pockets in handouts and anything else they can get. They WANTED this so let THEM lose their jobs, their retirment, their medical coverage. Let them be the first to give up their guns to the anti-gun govt they voted for.
A Government that does not trust its law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, is itself unworthy of trust..... - James Madison
