AP: I know from your blog, The Afternoon Off, that you like to cook. Is it true that you hunt for your meat?
Williams: We do get our own venison, yes. I grew up in that culture. ... You know these factory farms are obviously atrocious so I started deer hunting with my dad. He loves it. I make venison jerky and venison roast and venison hot dogs and venison chili and it's a neat kind of barbaric feeling to get a hundred pounds of meat and have it for a whole family for a season. I feed everyone. I give them summer sausages, so I love it. I don't like being in camo (camouflage) at 5 a.m. with my rifle in the miserable cold and bugs, but you know, it's good food and I do eat meat and it's a good way to get it.

No, Not really. Too bad because she is kind of hot and looks like her grandfather at the same time.

She is opening for somebody at the Ryman coming up. She's also got a boutique women's clothing store in Green Hills.

She's kind of in that no-man's-land with regards to Country music. She doesn't do co-writes or Nashville staff writer songs, which is the only way the Nashville "machine" will support you. At the same time, she's still basically writing and playing "Pop Country", so no love from the disenfranchised and/or Traditional Country (i.e. "Trad Country) music fans either. If you are not doing Nashville co-writes, you'll never make it on pop country radio, but other outlets such as Sirius XM "Outlaw Country" stations etc do not play Pop Country even if it is "underground". Traditional, hard country, outlaw country etc pretty much happens at a rock level, much like Punk Rock in the early 80s, so, there's a real void there.
On a side note, it is interesting how the Williams offspring all bear a striking resemblance to Hank Sr.

I kicked it with her, one of her sisters and her mother back in the day (2000 time frame) on the TN River up around Paris, TN and Big Sandy area. Hank Jr. was not there, but his wife and two of his daughters were out on the water having a good ole time. We had some fun times back then.
