What should I expect to pay for a large prime-rib loin, going to try to smoke one for Easter but have no idea what they cost? I need to serve 8 people.

Thanks!

The ones I saw at Kroger last night were about $80. They were being run on special for about $60. I didn't happen to catch the unit weight cost of them, though. I would expect a whole loin to fetch in the neighborhood of $8-$12/lb

x2. Charlie's Meat market here in town is selling them for $10.95 per pound.

West Wind Farms has one for $191. I have never tried their beef, but the quality of their pork and chicken is impossible to beat.

You shouldn't pay more than $6.99 for a whole one. Look for ribeye on sale and tell them you want a whole one in bag. They will cut you a deal. Leave the lip on too for smoking, it adds flavor and moisture.
