Looking to try and establish a working relationship with a meat provider in the Spring Hill area.

I've got yet another whole-church pork pullin' coming up this month, so need to order some butts at a good price, and I'd just as soon do it locally as run up to Sam's Club.

We will undoubtedly have to do another pull or two to get my youth group kids to South Dakota this summer for their mission trip to Interior and points nearby.

And in April I'm fixin' to schedule the Inaugural Chicken Pickin' event to celebrate surviving this mudball for 50 years. My wife says "You want a surprise party or a regular party?" Well, the last surprise party involved a bunch of youth group kids and left me cleaning food off the ceiling after they were gone. No thank you. So I'm gonna grill a case of chicken leg quarters and invite folks with guitars and such to bring a dish and accompaniment, and we'll sit on the deck and have a good time.

So yeah, I can do this through Sam's or Kroger, but wouldn't mind having a human face to deal with.

Can't help you on the meat situation, but when are you going to SD? The reason I ask is our youth group is going out also but I am not sure which church we are teaming up with.

Our trip is an independent one, as in not through an outside organization that puts trips together, and our lead church is out of Kingston, TN on this one. We go July 18-27.

Sounds like the same as ours. Same time and everything. We are coming out of Bristol. We start our fundraising with a spagatti dinner after church in 2 weeks followed up with a 10K run a few weeks later.

Awesome, bigquacks. What church are you coming with?

Thanks, Model 1, I'll look them up.

http://www.wellspringchristian.org is us. We coordinate through Tim Green at Morrison Hill out of Kingston.

I was interested in doing a whole hog last year, but we ended up going with the butts, and to be honest, with 250-300 people waiting on it, I don't want to mix up the recipe too much for this one.

However, we will be doing a men's retreat. Maybe we can consider that!
