I replace mine every two years. However, if it is showing significant wear or I want a color change I will replace it sooner. I highly recommend http://www.energywavebowstrings.com if you need new strings, they are a local Tennessee company, Hermitage, TN to be exact, and the quality is great, warranty is awesome and so is the price.

Most say every year but with the Gore that is being added to strings today to keep them from fraying I say every two like TNDeerBozo said. 8190 and Trophy show very little wear, have no stretch, and will perform for you for 2 years + if taken care of and waxed properly. Factory strings depending on the manufacturer, generally should be replaced after a year.
