Ok so the old lady and myself decided to make a trip to Nashville the 9th and 10th of March just to get away from the great city of Memphis for a little while. I was wondering if you guys could recommend a hotel that is in a decent area in the 60-100 a night range. Also can you give me some ideas of things that are must dos in Nashville.

I usually stay at holiday inn express on west side of Nashville. I think it's on Charlotte Pike but not sure. Nice hotel, and decent breakfast. Also there is a Drury Inn on briley pkwy close to opry mills that's real nice.

I think last time I stayed in one next to the dukes of hazard museum and was later told that was a bad neighborhood. That was about 4 years ago at the last good guys car event I managed to make.

There is a Hilton (more than 100/nite) but it's on 4th I think walking distance to everything down town - all the music joints and good eats, CM Hall of Fame - Arena etc -
ferg....

If there no special events going on you can get a room at the Maxwell House through kayak or anyone of those travel sites for around $65 + tax. About $85 total. You will have to prepay with no cancelation.

There's a hotel at the White Bridge Rd exit (west nashville) directly across a side street from a Walgreens and across White Bridge from a Waffle House. Maxwell House is always running specials for about $100. As for special events, you'd have to check the Ryman's website, Country Music Hall of Fame, etc...
Personanlly, I'd pay $40 more and try to stay closer to town, just because my old lady and myself would have a drink or three. A lot of hotels closer to town will have a shuttle that will take you somewhere and the closer you are, the cheaper the cab ride back. One side note, most hotels will charge $15 - $20 to park, that's the downside about staying in the downtown vicinity.

Must Do: Prince's Hot Chicken, Country Music Hall of Fame, Robert's Western World. On your back way out of town, stop at The Loveless Cafe for Breakfast.
