Well since I drew it, I have to ask . . . Anybody know anything about Shelby Forest? I have never hunted it before as I am not from this area originally. I will do some scouting but I've never been to the area so I'm starting from scratch. (Looking for big picture help. I'll do the legwork to get the details figured out)

Hunted it last year for the first time. Was definitely a "quality" hunt. Was surprised to have gotten drawn again this year. First week or last week, I believe a man could hunt hard gobbling turkeys till the end in their.Chuck Swan May 2-4 That's a long time away. My season starts Saturday morning. Headin to South Florida in the morning. I'll be at chuck swan the same weekend. Two years in a row getting drawn, that has never happened to me before

Is it hard to get drawn for these quota hunts? I haven't hunted TN my entire life, but I have had some decent private lands to hunt so never worrried about applying. I am thinking about applying for some next year.

It depends on the area you apply for. For some of the best ones it takes a preference point or two so it can take a couple years. Some you can get pretty easy.

So there is a point system by applying? Like somebody that has been denied a year or two would get chosen over a first timer? I may start applying for them next year.
