Good luck! I've never bow fished, but it is something that's on my to do list. So how much does a good rig cost?

The sky is the limit. A top of the line completely rigged airboat can run 70-80K. A top of the fan boat can run upwards 40K. I use a rig w/ a trolling motor. I'm not in a lot of grass here in east tn. Or you can take a completely stripped jon boat and go out and have the time of your life for <300. Just depends on how addicted you become. lol.

If you already have an old bow the reel set up is about $150

I hope you plan on giving up most of your regular fishing time. It is absolutely addictive.

Check...I have a bow that I've been planning to rig up just haven't had the spare time to get everything together. I've got a house on Birdsong Creek and there's plenty of shallow water and flats prime for bow fishing. I gar fish with my fly rod and catch the crap out of them...I'm moving up there permanent in a year or so and plan on doing a lot of bow fishing.

Rooster, I bought a 1960's Bear TigerCat Recurve on ebay for $80. It has the brass insert that you can screw a reel holder into. I think it's 45# draw weight. I put a big Zebco push button reel on it and it does just fine. No need to throw a ton of money into it.
