TNLandowner, seeing those wild quail is more exciting than a big buck anymore. One of my goals is to once again hear that "Bob White" call on my land. It's been at least 5 years and maybe closer to 10.
I agree 100%! The quail population growth was an unplanned blessing that we didn't expect. Before planting the native grasses, we never heard quail. Now, we have 5-6 coveys thriving on the place. Our next effort will be to reduce the number of predators on the place. The Coyotes and bobcats have followed all the small game right onto the place. You can hear them howling at dusk everyday.

Now that's an awesome shed hunting partner! Great job teaching him that skill. My Golden would likely grab the antler and run away. He hates to share...

I just spent 4 hours looking and did not find any.. Could possibly be that my bucks still are holding there's I haven't had a picture of a buck in 2 weeks..

I just spent 4 hours looking and did not find any.. Could possibly be that my bucks still are holding there's I haven't had a picture of a buck in 2 weeks..

catman, if you dont mind my asking, are you finding more sheds in open woods, in thickets, or in open fields? I have not yet found a shed, but i have found 4 skulls on public land.

Good finds nate... walked today and yesterday and no sheds, need to hit a different spot, some bucks are still holding
