A 180 NAB at 3,177 don't suck in the wind. Trying the 168 TTSX in the am.
Hopefully at 3,300.

Semi-custom built off a Browning 300 Ultra. 27" Lilja.
Mag box gives me 3.618"
I hoarded 300 Dakota cases a couple years back. Ended up with 900+

Is the 300 Dakota basically a 300 WSM with a 30-06 case length?

Just compared the two and I'd say that's a close analogy.
Don't know how I'm supposed to fit 88.0 grains in that case though. I'm seriously crunching powder at 86g (H-1000).
Barnes says 83.0-88.0 H-1000 with the 168. I'm starting at 83.0 searching for 3,300 +/- and accuracy. A friend on another board said I would end up stopping at 83

I have learned with the 300 RUM and 338 Lapua that you better start low and work up,,the 300 RUM I had would not get pressure or speed until well past book max but the 338 will stick cases and get over max speeds 5-6 grs below book max,,

Eric-
I think you are dead on. Couple weeks ago I ran the 180 NAB with RL-22 and didn't make book max that day before I saw pressure.
Kinda why I'm shooting for a target speed and starting a lot lower than I normally would.
