Only seven of the 120 samples of red snapper purchased nationwide were actually red snapper, the report found.
I'm pretty sure I got the real deal

I grew up on the Northern Gulf coast eating fish I caught.
I was served a portion of "flounder" once that would have had to been from the world record flounder. It was 3+ inches thick. I asked the server who talked to the chef etc... The manager finally admitted it wasn't flounder saying they "just ran out" and it was Halibut. ...I told him it wasn't Halibut either but I didn't argue with him any further. We left. I've also eaten at a couple of catfish restaurant that I suspect was serving (tasteless) Talapia

The seafood industry has become so corrupt I won't eat it unless it before processing.

Just got back from a trip to visit family in La. I was reminded real quick what good fresh seafood tastes like.It was Nice eating scallops that are real scallops and not rounds cut from White fish.Fried oysters that melt in your mouth . Shrimp that are sweet and tender.

I wonder how many folks know the only reason Tilapia is on any menu is that it's cheap. Nobody around here even knew what a tilapia was fifteen years ago. To me, it's like a carp without the bones. I also find it funny that some commercials say "cod fish" instead of just cod. If you've been eating it your whole life, you'd think people would know what it is.

Yep. I have some Filipino customers who won't eat Tilapia. It's a 3rd world trash fish to them. They can't believe Americans will go to a restaurant and pay $15 for it. The profit margin on Tilapia must be pretty good.

I don't eat tilapia. The only trash fish I'll pay for is US Farm-Raised catfish

Tilapia is some of the nastiest "popular" fish I have ever ate. I will stick to Grouper Mahi Swordfish Halibut Amberjack Snapper Tuna
