What does the law say about quartering up a deer to pack it out? Me and a buddy were talking about packing in on some national forest and wondering what the law says about quartering to get the animal out.

Evidence of species and sex must remain attached to the animal.

Here is the new language in Proclamation 13-01:
"By the end of the calendar day of harvest, all big game animals shall be checked in at an approved TWRA checking station, on the TWRA website, or by the TWRA mobile application. Evidence of the big game animal's species and sex must be available for inspection by TWRA personnel until the animal is checked in. All big game animals taken to taxidermists or to meat processors must be accompanied by documentation on approved TWRA forms or TWRA mobile application."

This check in thing may be nice so long as it works all the time.

This check in thing may be nice so long as it works all the time.
There is no reason to go into this thing with unreasonable expectations.
It requires 3G cell service, so it is not going to work all of the time! There are places in TN where cell service is very limited.
However, since it does not replace any other check in sytem, the methods we have been using for many years are still available.
