picked this up earlier in the month and it still had a good bit of rotted flesh and hide attached, so I made a special Green Stew in the backyard (sorry I didn't save any for you Poser, it was too delicious). Cause of death was most likely a brain abscess, as you can see the crack in the skull and even a hole that went all the way through to the brain.

It has been bleached and ready to go for days, but I finally cut the piece of barn I got and screwed the head in and hung it on the wall next to my other pick-up from 2010. Maybe one day I can be lucky enough to kill one like it!

Those are beautiful racks. Which I could stumble on something like that in the woods. Hard to come by in east tn

yep they sure are not common but when you go into the woods you never know for sure what you may find. I check every bone pile for a skull, or a single bone for the rest of the pile... when I found the big skull in 2010, all I saw at first was the pelvic bone from a distance. I thought I might want to check and see if there was a skull. I walked up and saw the whole bone pile, looked to my right a bit and there was the skull just sitting there. This more recent one I was just going through the thicket trying to find a spot I marked on the GPS, and was getting close when I found a patch of fur, followed the trail 15 yards and found the carcass.

also the moose antler is not genes, the buck was previously injured and it caused the antler to grow funny. The skull is cracked in front and behind the pedicle.

thanks. My first was not so great. boiled it around 7 hours which disintegrated the nose bones. This one I did turned out perfect and I boiled it just long enough that the flesh was fairly easy to scrape and scrub off. maybe 2-3 hours or so, pulling it out of the water to test and remove flesh every now and then.

I am just now starting to edit all the video I took of the process and will have it on youtube within the next day or so. Remind me to send you a link, it should help explain the process.

Very nice! Still great job on the euro mounts for sure! And I tried to send you a pm asking "how to" questions, but it said it was full.

Sorry my pm box does fill up often cause I don't clean it enough. I will clean it in a minute.

Found out that I lost a good bit of footage that i thought was on my computer, and I had deleted it off my iphone. Installed recovery software but it didn't find anything. It was just the bleaching process that I lost, so I still have enough to work with and make the video.

Thanks, I just sent the pm.
Stinks about loosing the footage. I've had pictures just vanish on my computer before so I know the feeling. And that video will probaby answer most of the questions I just sent, so when done send me the link too if you don't mind.
