had a nice bird come running in to my struter jake last year, popped him out 20 yards out.
just had my jake and a hen out and he came running from so far out he was nothing more than a black dot when I first saw him

Yep! I don't hardly ever use em, its pretty much just folded up in the back of my vest all season. I literally leave it in there all year for a back cushion

I dont use em but my father inlaw kills 2 or 3 with a full strutter every year. He says when they see it they walk right to it.

I've used a bmobile for years. I have yet to see a gobbler not come in to him if its seen. His name is Fred!

Whats your experience/ advice with tools such as these? Is it basically jus a 50/50 that you get on the right bird or birds? I have heard they are more effective early in season when birds are establishing their dominance. Also when gobblers are still in groups, as there a little braver in numbers or maybe it's just that your chance are better of having a dominant mature bird in a group...
But then I've heard ppl say they've had more jakes and 2 yr old birds, come into a strutter decoy than they have mature birds...??
What's your thoughts?
I killed a mature bird last year the first week-end of May coming to my buddy's "Spin-N-Strut". He left a hen he had just bred and came straight to our decoy spread - 2 Flambeau Shady Lady's and the "Spin-N-Strut". Convinced me.

I have a strutter and never had any success with it. Haven't used it in several years and very rarely use any decoys. Have a buddy that has killed quite a few that saw the strutter and came running.

I dont hardly use a decoy at all but if I do I have better luck with a strutter decoy later in the season. and I hardly ever gobble. I have the b mobile as a strutter. but at the nwtf show mojo had a strutting decoy that was pretty cool if 150 I doubt ill ever use it. im not sure if it is even legal in tn. it moves in circles and the fan goes up and down I believe it runs off 4 AA battery's. I have better luck not using a decoy though it seems.

I had 2 hens and a strutting tom decoy setup when I first started turkey hunting. One day I had a bunch of birds coming towards me as all they could see were the hen decoys. But when the big tom of the group got into a position to where he could see my strutting tom decoy, he bolted off. The closest he came was within 60 or so yards. I never took that thing out ever again. Waste of $80 for me.

I hunt mostly fields and use decoys all the time.I've had great success using them out in the pasture but I dont fool with them when hunting the woods.
