Never trapped before, but after youtubing and reading online articles I decided to try it a round. Day 4 I come to the corner set and find this nice male. 12 coons, 1 skunk, and now the real target has been hit. I set my goal at 10 dogs by month's end. We'll see what happens.

Great Catch ! 10 is doable on right property. I have 2 retired friends who are trapping a 800 acre farm in Whitehouse area who have caught 32 yotes on it since deer season closed. That was 2 weeks ago so they may have more by now. Yotes will travel large ranges so you could catch them all in a week if lucky enough. They had 4 on one day and then had 3 more two days later. CATCHUM ALL !!

I had 2 other traps thrown today and yote crap right there. I have had yotes wake us up at night right out the window. I only have 20acres. I know we have several around, I just hope they come by here before I quit at the end of the month. Trapping is like milking. Every day no matter what. Problem is there's more money in milk. LOL

This is their mating time of year right on into March and they will roam more looking for mates. They will track other yotes from one area to another sometimes days apart. If you catch one you are more likely to catch its mate in a day or two. The 2 friends I spoke of are catching most of theirs with dirt hole sets using minced bobcat meat special ordered.

Well, today was the first day I haven't had anything in the traps. I was disappointed. Maybe tomorrow.

Well we got smoked today. 7 sets hit, no animals. You really have to redo those dirt hole foot traps after a rain. The rain packs the loose dirt on the trap. This isn't all bad, but then when it freezes it makes it into peanut brittle and the trap fails to go off. All are redone and I'll continue until this next rain hits. Probably pull them out Wednesday.

Nice female coyote today. Glad to get a female. Hurts them exponentially. I hope to catch a couple more females by Thursday's pull-out.

Good to see someone having luck with the coyotes. ALMOST got started this year but the places I have lined up all have "friendly" canines so I'm gonna' think-on-it and study-up-more until fall.

Nice seeing you killing some 'yotes. That big male is very pretty.

Thought I'd already closed out the season and the thread, until I went to pull sets. Between the morning's run and the evening's pull this dog got caught and dug a good hole. The hole wasn't around the anchor. He dug out the scent hole. It was very loose dirt, so it looks better than it really was.
