That's awesome! I grew up in a house that for the longest all I could have was a dog or cat inside the house. As a kid I used to bring in lizards, skinks, snakes, and turtles all the time only to have the door suddenly slammed in my face LOL. The only thing "exotic to them" that I talked my parents in letting me have was fish.
What species is this large turtle?

I had a bearded dragon that got to about 2 lbs which was a huge one. Gave it to a friend because I ran out of room and the little guy didn't last 6 months.

Sounds way cool! I've always been drawn to pets that were a little off to one side of norm. I guess the good thing about a turtle is that when the kids stop playing with him all the time, he probably won't give a rip.

These two are about 3" now at 2 months. In a year they will be 7-10". They get up to 24" or bigger. I will post pics on my FB page and post the link.

Just an FYI, but all turtles are illegal to possess for pets in TN.
The tortoises are technically illegal under Dept. of Health rules, but our agency doesn't deal with the tortoises.
