Anyone been lately or heard of anyone going?
Kicking around the idea of going this weekend. No clue where or how to fish though.
Never been this time of the year.
chunkandwind, Was that picture you showed me recent? I can't remember what you said.

Always catch bass good up there this time of year on rattletraps and jigs. Shallow squarebill crankbaits can be killer around some of the shallower timber closer to deep water.

You'd be surprised. Once that water hits the 48-50 degree mark, I lay the jerkbaits down some and start throwing the rattletrap a little more. When it's at that 52-55 degree mark, it can be lights out in that 2-6 foot depth range with a rattletrap. Myself and cdtac1 have had way too many good days to count at Gibson County Lake this time of year in that depth range with rattletraps and squarebills as well as jigs. It's more of a reaction strike you're after this time of year. We used to fish the Gibson County Bass club fundraiser tourney every year, and a few yrs ago a fellow won big fish with a 11 lb 4 oz lunker. He caught it on, you guessed it, a rattletrap in 3 ft of water.

Man I forgot all about that! We've had some awesome late feb, early march days up there for sure. I'm ready to hit it again myself. You may not get me away from Pickwick on Monday if they keep on like they have been. Lol
