that is the problem is no one stands up to anyone anymore it is the well veryone else does it to!!!! drop em and find companies with same values as your own! just imagine if every gun supporter dropped them, that would be a major smack in the nuts for comcast

My question is why do companies that have NOTHING to do with politics have a view in the first place? What does the 2A have to do with Cable service?

The guy holding the steering wheel at Comcast is politically active.

Comcast donated $206,056 to Obama's campaign, compared to the $20,500 the company gave to Romney.

Brian Roberts, Comcast chairman and CEO, gave to both political parties and his company's PAC, but his personal donations were primarily directed to members and organizations of the Democratic Party. He donated $10,000 to the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania; $4,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee; and $20,000 to the DNC Services Corp.

A little off topic, but I work for a global company with a corporate headquarters in France. There isn't a week that goes by that our US division isn't subjected to some ridiculous "green" or diversity-related or Socialistic political communication from headquarters in Paris. Our business in Europe is in the tank because of competition from the Chinese and because of the debt crisis over there, and the fools running our company in Paris seem to be more concerned with being green and banning paper coffee cups in our offices than they do about actually winning some business and making money so they can pay our bloated union labor force in Europe. My point is that many big corporations like Comcast are heavily influenced by and involved in regional, national and even global politics.

In today's political govt/private sector business climate, I can certainly see why companies would donate money to a campaign. It's a matter of survival.

What I don't see is why they make public statements on divisive issues knowing full well that 1/2 or more of their customers will disagree with their stance. It's bad business and the likes you would expect from non-competative offices like the DMV or your power company.

There was a time, not too long ago when companies would not THINK of sticking their necks out for polarized social issues like gay marriage, gun rights, abortion etc. Now it's the norm. And to what success? Is business really UP at the Homo depot because they have their logo on a parade float with two guys performing sex acts on each other?

It's like companies don't CARE if you like them or not. They know you'll send them your money anyway.

Maybe they are right.

Just like Bank of America, if this is your "Final Straw", you haven't been paying attention for the past 5 years (or more). I pity the poor folks that have no other alternative but to use Comcrap.

I despise their poor services. At work they installed a cable box on every TV throughout the property. That's more than 5000 boxes and they constantly give us trouble. The boxes were removed from another property (used) and we change out about 25 per week. It pays the same but we have a lot of other things we could be doing instead of changing out their secondhand pos cable boxes.
In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.
