anybody ever use the 115 Berger bullet and really stretch the 25-06 out,,I have been shooting a 223 to 700 and the 338 way out there.
I may try and see how the 115 Berger flies about 1,000 yards, but I have fears I will be rebarreling it again,,but heck it has been 20 years since I replaced it the last time..
anybody have a load for the 115 Berger that will run 2950-3100 fps and shoot at least MOA average??

I shot my 25-06 with the 115 Bergers at 1000yds a few years ago. I'd have to double check my load books to be certain, but I believe my load was 52 grains of IMR 4350, Federal Gold Medal Match Primer and Winchester brass. That load was the best long range load I ever shot in my 25-06.

I use to shoot the 120 Sierra GKBTHP and 52 grs 4350 and it was real accurate but it was too hot a load and didnt shoot very fast,,I always hunted with 100 gr bullets but now I think I will try the newer slower powdes and see if I can get a good accurate load that will clock around 3,000 that isnt an over pressure load,,
according to my figures the 115 at 3,000 should shoot like a 180 gr 300 WM load at 1,000 yards,,minus the ft lbs of energy..

Now, I'd like some of those too! I've got a box of the Berger Hunting 115gr VLD's that I intend to try in both the 25-06 & 257 Weatherby but just haven't gotten around to doing so.
